NAMI Hudson County offers monthly presentations by invited speakers on a variety of topics.
ASK THE EXPERT - November 8 at 6:30 pm
Join Alnardo Martinez, a child/adolescent mental health counselor, for a conversation on mental health. Parents and caregivers can be the first to know when a child is struggling but can feel at a loss to know what is going on and what to do next. This event will review the signs and symptoms of the most common mental health disorders in children, such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. We will also give caregivers strategies and helpful steps for what to do when you notice these signs.
In Our Own Voice - December 6, 2022
NAMI In Our Own Voice (IOOV) is a powerful presentation that aims to change attitudes, assumptions, and stereotypes about people living with mental health conditions. Two trained presenters with lived experience of a mental health condition talk openly about their experiences and how they have found pathways to hope and healing. They talk about “What Happened,” “What Helps” and “What is Next.” Audience members have the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about mental health, and challenge misconceptions.
