NAMI FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS

NAMI Family Support Groups are free, peer-led support groups for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Attendees gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances. 


The groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators.

NAMI Hudson County Family Support Groups meet on Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

NAMI CONSUMER CONNECTIONS

NAMI Consumer Connections Support Group are free, peer-led support groups for adults living with mental illness. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others. 

The groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators who have had similar experiences.

NAMI Hudson County Consumer Connections Support Groups meet on Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

NAMI NJ SUPPORT SPECIALTY GROUPS

Spouse/Partner Support Groups meet the
2nd Thursdays of the month, 7 p.m. ET

SPOUSE / PARTNER SUPPORT GROUPS

Gain support and share with others who can relate to your personal experiences. The group will follow the NAMI Signature Family Support Group Model and will be run by two trained facilitators.


Participants must pre-register and be 18 years or older. Attendance is limited to 15 people.

Sibling Groups meets the 4th Thursday of each month, 7 p.m ET

SIBLING GROUP

Join us for this special online support group for individuals with a sibling who lives with mental illness. Gain support and share with others who can relate to your personal experiences. The group will follow the NAMI Signature Family Support Group Model and will be run by two trained facilitators.


Participants must pre-register and be 18 years or older. Attendance will be limited. 

Asylees/Refugees group meets on the 3rd Friday of the month, 4 p.m - 5 p.m. ET

Asylees/Refugees NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group

NAMI NJ and Interfaith Rise collaborate to offer a NAMI Connection Recovery Online Support Group for asylees and refugees.

LGBTQ+ group meets on the last Sunday of each month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m ET

LGBTQ+ NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group

NAMI Connection is a peer-led recovery support group for individuals (18+) in the LGBTQ+ community who have a mental health condition

African American Community Together NOW

AACT-NOW

AACT-NOW (African American Community Together NOW) is an exciting initiative of NAMI New Jersey to connect with NJ’s African-American families affected by mental illness, the faith community and mental health professionals to provide culturally competent education, support and advocacy. AACT-NOW goals are to dispel the misconceptions surrounding mental illness and to create an anti-stigma environment for those seeking treatment.

Chinese American Mental Health Outreach Program in New Jersey

CAMHOP-NJ

CAMHOP-NJ is a NAMI New Jersey initiative to serve immigrant families of Chinese origin who are affected by mental illnesses, including Chinese immigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions, through education, support and advocacy. Our free services include family support groups, referral services, advocacy, community workshops, and educational materials in Chinese. CAMHOP pronounces like “Golden Crane” in Chinese. South Asian Mental Health Awareness in Jersey

SAMHAJ

SAMHAJ is a NAMI NJ initiative to help South Asians (of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Nepali, Afghan and Bhutanese origin) in New Jersey understand that mental illness is a biologically based and treatable illness. Our free services include support groups, referral services, advocacy, community workshops, and other outreach activities. This program won the NAMI 2002 Multicultural Award.
